The date given as the reference number has been
provided by the plan/map itself.
If a date has been inferred from a source other than
one which is integral to the map or plan itself, the source is
indicated in square brackets in the course of the entry.
If the date is derived from Bonser and Nichols,
Thoresby Society 47 (1960), their number is given in square brackets,
e.g. [B&N 168]; if from Harold Whitaker, A Descriptive List of
the Printed Maps of Yorkshire and its Ridings, 1577-1900, YAS
Record Series 86 (1933), his reference number is given in square
brackets, e.g. [Wh 690].
