Tercentenary of the publication of Ducatus Leodiensis
In 1715 Ralph Thoresby published the first history of Leeds. To celebrate the three hundredth anniversary of its publication the Thoresby Society decided to produce two volumes, A Celebration of Ralph Thoresby and Ralph Thoresby’s Review of his Life.
To launch the volumes and to start our association with The Leeds Library a series of lunch time lectures were held.
Tuesday November 3rd at 1.00pm | Lunchtime lecture 1-2pm to launch the publication of Thoresby’s Review edited by Peter Meredith. The lectures were very well attended and extremely interesting and as an extra Peter Meredith gave his talk in clothes similar to those Ralph Thoresby would have worn.
