15. The Lane Fox family sold Pykeley Hill Farm in the early 'Twenties' and the former farm buildings became the clubhouse for the newly formed Moor Allerton Golf Club. This photograph shows Abe Frais preparing to drive the first ball on 27 March 1923. 'The Allerton' banqueting and conference centre now occupies the site.
