| 501st Excursion Wednesday September 16th 2015 Farnley Hall near Otley Time: 1.30pm for 2.00pm for the talk and tour Place: Farnley Hall, LS21 2 QF Guide: Guy Fawkes…the owner Cost : admission charge £11 for the private tour to include homemade cakes and tea/coffee (payable in advance to the Thoresby Society) Guy Fawkes will show us round Farnley Hall, his family home for many generations. The hall was designed by Robert Carr in the 16th Century and has splendid plaster work. The artist, William Turner was a frequent guest and painted the Hall. In WW2 the Hall was used as a maternity hospital. The Hall is not open to the public and is very much the family home of the Fawkes family who are pleased to show us round on a private visit to be preceded by refreshments in the kitchen |
